Mosquito Breeding Prevention

Mosquitoes are not just annoying and causes itch; they can also spread diseases like dengue, Zika, malaria, and yellow fever. In Singapore, dengue and Zika are the most common mosquito-borne illnesses, carried by Aedes mosquitoes.

While it’s important to avoid mosquito bites (such as using mosquito repellent patches and applying insect repellents), it’s equally crucial to prevent mosquitoes from breeding. According to the National Environment Agency of Singapore, here are some steps you can take at home:

Break up hardened soil

Lift and empty flowerpot plates

Overturn pails and wipe their rims

Change water in vases

Keep gutters clear and place BTI insecticides

Here are some additional steps you can take to prevent / reduce the chances of being bitten by mosquitos.

Apply insect repellent products, such as NeutriCare® All Natural Insect Repellent Patches

Wear long sleeved clothings

Spray insecticides to dark corners of the room / house

Sleep in mosquito nets when sleeping in the outdoors or whenever appropriate
